Jewelry / Elizabeth Taylor Sapphire Brooch by Bulgari

Both cinematic glamour and the artistry of high jewelry are represented in this beautiful sapphire and diamond brooch by Bulgari once owned by Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor. Taylor was known not only for her iconic roles in films such as Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Cleopatra and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, but also for her extensive and stunning jewelry collection. Hers was one of the most extensive collections of jewels from the most important design firms worldwide, with pieces from Tiffany & Co., Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, JAR, Bulgari and many more. In fact, her collection was so impressive that it became known as "The Crown Jewels of Hollywood."

This brooch combines vibrant blue and pink sapphires with sparkling white diamonds to brilliant effect. The jewels come together in a beautiful stylized floral bouquet design that reflects the sophisticated style of Bulgari. The sapphires total 17.50 carats while the diamonds weigh a combined 5.25 carats. Imbued with color and drama, this piece truly embodies Taylor's stardom, her impeccable taste, and her love affair with jewelry. Set in platinum and 18K yellow gold

One of the oldest of the Italian luxury jewelry brands, Bulgari has long been synonymous with la dolce vita. Founded in Rome in 1884 by the Greek silversmith Sotirio Bulgari, the firm soon built a reputation for excellence, fashioning jewelry creations of exquisite craftsmanship and high-quality gemstones. With a client list that included the ever-glamorous Elizabeth Taylor and other celebrities, Bulgari quickly became a household name, and today the brand is synonymous with lavish jewels and striking designs.
