Humans are set apart from every other creature on this planet by our consciousness of time. We are aware of its passage and what that means for our own mortality. We also have memories of the past beyond basic instinct and conditioning. Perhaps most importantly, we plan for the future, weeks, months and even years in advance. Time may be a human construct, but it shapes nearly every aspect of our daily lives.
Perhaps it is this unique consciousness that has compelled humankind to make sense of time since history began — eventually, the clock developed as a way for time to be measured and controlled. Through the medium of the clock, Time Across Time seeks to dissect this history, as well as notions of time as a construct that shapes our past, present and future.
